Persyn Law & Policy today submitted a letter of support for Assemblymember Bonta's bill, the HEAL Trauma in Schools Act, as it heads to its next hearing on June 29.

Childhood trauma can have a profound impact on brain development, the ability to learn, resilience, and lifetime mental and physical health. Screening and treating trauma among our youngest students--pre-K through 3rd grade--is a critically important step in raising the trauma awareness and responsiveness of all systems that touch children.
